Following the launch of the Gauteng e-toll road, SANRAL encountered opposition from the public and business due largely to misinterpretation in the media. SANRAL needed to respond to the inaccurate information that played on public fears.

I directed and animated a 60 second animated commercial detailing precisely what the fees structures would be in simple terms. The style and tone is informal and light, using bold, clear animated graphics to support the voice over explaining in clear terms how the fee structure works. I chose a cheeky vintage beetle as the ‘hero’ for its everyman appeal, and unassuming character.
