A colleague came to me in 2023 asking if I would be able/willing to lend a hand in designing a t-shirt for colleagues to wear at the 2023 Pride in London parade. I jumped at the opportunity, and worked with my colleague to create a simple, yet meaningful design featuring the Progress Pride Flag within a heart. The design was printed on a bright yellow t-shirt, which certainly drew attention!

I was asked a second time in 2024 to design the t-shirt. This time I decided on a more complex and visually striking design, inspired by the feather fans of those marching with us in the 2023 parade, this time featuring the Intersex-Inclusive Pride Flag, along with a selection of other Pride Flags. Again, a bright t-shirt (this time hot pink) accompanied the design, which drew a lot of attention! This is one of my favourite pieces of work to date.

Before leaving the company in 2025, I designed a third t-shirt for the 2025 parade, which I unfortunately was not able to attend. I left before a t-shirt colour was selected, but opted for a more scientific design of a DNA strand to link with the company I was working for. I continued with the idea of including a variety of Pride Flags, this time with the Intersex-Inclusive Pride Flag as the Sugar-Phosphate Backbone (outer parts of the helix) and other Pride Flags as the Nitrogenous Bases (internal, ladder like parts of the helix).

My designs went down a storm with colleagues and non-colleagues, with a lot of attention and positive comments from observers and other scientific companies we were marching with.
