ABOUT
The brief was to design and produce two distinct good practice guides, one for landlords and one for leaseholders, to be printed in both English and Welsh. It was important that these guides were easy to navigate but pleasing to the eye, with easy-to-read type and visual interest added through the use of full-colour illustrations.
Concept: As this was an fact-heavy publication whose primary function was to convey information, I decided to colour code each section and create an identifying symbol which appeared throughout the section, enabling the reader to know instantly which topic was under discussion on the page he/she was looking at.
Execution: Once the design, including illustrative style, was approved for the first 6 sample pages of the first guide,
I proceeded to produce the first English guide - 48 pages A4 with illustrations from Adobe Stock. Once this was approved by the end client, I produced the second, A5 leaseholder guide in a similar style, and subsequently went on to produce the artwork for the Welsh translations of both.
I am pleased to say that the end results were well received by my client The Leasehold Advisory Service, the end client The Welsh Government and the general public.
