About me

To Whom It May Concern,

At a young age I became extremely interested in digital media, and have since followed this interest through with me to University where I currently study media & communication. I have a passion for social media which I have been working with on a part time basis, and am hoping to carry forward this passion into a full time role after I finish my studies. I am currently writing my dissertation on how the music industry has changed and evolved since the emergence of the internet.

I love learning how to use new forms of technology, and I am always looking to update my current gadgets to keep up with ever improving software and hardware being introduced to the market. I taught myself how to use design programs such as Photoshop, and have been using them since my early teens to make graphics for myself, family, friends and online requests. From this skill I began to design fan-site websites for music artists and update them on a regular basis. This is where I got my passion for digital content from. A lot of these websites went on to become official outlets, working in tandem with management to create informative platforms for fan audiences. I have also put these skills into practice throughout practical elements of my studies, such as journalism and photography.

Within recent years my work has become focused within social media management, and I am looking forward to expanding my skills in this area. The accounts I have managed have ranged drastically in terms of what the businesses offered, or wanted to achieve with their online marketing. Each time I get a new company I research it in depth in order to ensure I have a full understanding of the business, and the market they are targeting. I use Hootsuite to schedule posts on platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+, and partake in live management to interact with the audiences - along with daily updates on Pinterest and Instagram. For those that were events, I was also responsible for creating the graphic visuals within the social media platforms. I would be available to start from Monday 25th May 2015.
