ABOUT

In the first ever development of its kind, visitors to 26 forests across England can now take a leading role in the world famous children’s tale, The Gruffalo.

Commissioned by Magic Light Pictures and in partnership with Forestry Commission England, The Gruffalo Spotter augmented reality app invites families to follow a trail of clues, tracking footprints of their favourite characters from The Gruffalo. Once families have spotted the characters, they are brought to life in augmented reality using the Gruffalo Spotter app.

Visitors can stand next to the characters and take photos as keepsakes using their phone or tablet. The photos are automatically added to the device’s gallery, from where it can be shared via social media with the hashtag #GruffaloSpotters. The new app takes family forest walks to new heights, mixing technology with the real world it encourages children to get exploring, firing their imaginations and enabling them to have an all-new forest experience.

The Gruffalo Spotter app is available for free in the UK from the 20th February on iOS , Android & Amazon.
