To demonstrate the commitment of Dubai in supporting the arts and culture, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum established the ‘Hamdan International Photography Award’. The award is a celebration to all those talented, often crazy photographers, who subject themselves to personal risk and the harshest of conditions in the pursuit of capturing the perfect shot.

As well as raising the number of entries, HIPA wanted a cinema commercial that would attract an international audience to take part for a chance to win its grand prize.
