My singer-songwriter cousin, Jonny, asked me to design the artwork for his Album:
"Good Luck With The Music".
This design consisted of going into great depth with the songs, what they were all about and what they meant to Jonny. After sending many voice notes back and forward, putting our minds together, we came up with the main album artwork. The album is all about a tough break up after a long-term relationship and the emotions that follow on from this. Also, about how Jonny wants to further his career in the music industry, hence the name "Good Luck With The Music".
I put together difference references from each song and singles within the artwork, such as the journey beginning from leaving Toronto (where the relationship ended and mentioned in the song "Sometime's It's Grey") and then onto his music journey.
Additionally, there are other references on the album design, such as: A plane for the song "Turbulence", Christmas Tree for "It Doesn't Feel Like Christmas" and a straight path for "Straight & Narrow".
I spent almost 25 hours digitally drawing this image. I went into a lot of depth with the details to make it as creative as possible.
The songs are a lot about reflection, so I wanted to have creative reference for this, displaying his reflection on the guitar. The genre of music is country/singer-songwriter and his trademark that his is a guitar player.
We went with a psychedelic theme, with Jonny going into a journey from a void.

We also printed this design on Vinyl copies, as seen in one of the images.
Jonny was very happy with the end result and I was very grateful to be apart of his music journey.
