ABOUT
A selection of images and motion from a recent shoot I photographed & directed for Roe & Co for Born Social.
The brief centred around warm, end of the day, golden lighting, capturing beautifully crafted cocktails across a range of settings, both with and without talent.
Over two shoot days, with the first dedicated to stills and the second focused on motion.
The stills captured a combination of Roe & Co bottle and serve imagery, alongside cocktail focused shots and lifestyle moments featuring talent. This mix ensured a balance between product led visuals and more aspirational, social storytelling.
The motion day centred around a primary lifestyle narrative, a group of friends enjoying an outdoor gathering in warm sunlight, sharing cocktails made with Roe & Co whiskey. Shot with a handheld approach, the intention was to create an immersive, natural feel, placing the viewer within the moment. Additional motion content included cocktail-making sequences, each subtly tying back to the overarching lifestyle story.
The location was selected for its mid-century minimal aesthetic, offering textures and furniture that complemented the brand’s identity, along with a garden space that supported the outdoor social setting. Props and wardrobe followed a smart-casual direction, aligning with the target audience of early-to-mid 30s professionals.
Lighting across both stills and motion was kept warm and golden, enhancing a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. This tonal quality was further refined in post-production to align with the brand’s visual direction.
This was one of those shoots where everything really came together. The level of detail from the styling team, props, drinks, makeup and wardrobe, was incredible, and the talent and motion crew were a pleasure to work with.
Being able to shoot stills and direct motion on the same project is always my favourite way to work and as I do it often now, it's great having such brilliant teams to work alongside to bring a clients brief to life.
