ABOUT

I was initially employed to work on converting new designs from Adobe InDesign into MS PowerPoint templates. Whilst there, I taught myself how to create macros using VBA code and customise ribbons via Custom UI. This enabled me to address two particular problems - (1) how to replace the existing customised ribbon in their MS PowerPoint templates (the current provider was retiring and no longer providing support) and (2) how to format MS Word documents more efficiently and make them look more “designed”, whatever the skill level of the user.

My customised MS Word templates enabled users to perform several advanced and previously time-consuming tasks, at the click of a button. These included inserting and deleting landscape pages without causing problems in other sections, inserting and deleting one-column sections in a two-column document and changing and resizing the front cover image, even with other objects (logo, text box and gradient-filled rectangle) on top of it.

My customised MS PowerPoint macros and ribbon enables users to place format embedded Excel charts to brand guidelines and position and resize objects (e.g. top left or bottom right of a slide, full width or 1/2 height of the allowable space in a slide) - without the user needing to know the co-ordinates or measurements.
