ABOUT

This is a horror illustration inspired by themes like absolutism and royalty. The illustration incorporates the abuse and pride of European royalty in using animals – in this case, the ermine – as an aesthetic product. It is a sarcastic work that pokes fun at aristocratic customs.
It makes reference to royalty and their controversial customs. Stoats are animals known for their pure fur and symbolize wealth. The nobility used the skin of this animal as material for coats and capes, flaunting cruelty and power: each black “dot” on the nobles’ clothes symbolizes the death of an ermine.
