ABOUT
For this project I had to normalise abortions and link it to a specific location. 45% of all abortions are unsafe and 25 million women have unsafe abortions every year. There isn’t a proper abortion clinic on the Isle of Wight. I wanted to make safe abortions accessible on the Isle of Wight so they do not have to travel to the mainland. The ‘NO MORE’ tagline is to reject the message and that all women have the right to safe abortions and to show that things need to change. The idea of the campaign is that it travels with you to the Isle of Wight. This is the first point of contact people will make with the campaign. In the weeks leading up to the 28th
September, the posters and billboards will begin to appear. Many people might talk about this campaign once they see it so it will become well known and a big part of the Isle of Wight. As this is a campaign, posters were created to be shown at bus stops and on large billboards around the Isle of Wight. They will also be shown on ferry boats that carry passengers from the island to the mainland. Many campaigns or awareness days have some sort of badge. I chose to make one for Safe Abortion Awareness Day. It is to put unsafe abortions behind us. I created a symbol for this. I made a mini hanger and changed it into a heart balloon. The heart balloon symbolizes freedom, support, and goodbye to unsafe abortions. The money raised from these will help go towards an abortion clinic.
