I would like to apply for the position of Senior Copywriter. As a journalism graduate with an MA in Digital Media, I possess a passion for creating engaging content and developing effective marketing and communications strategies. I have worked in media, marketing and communications for over five years and during this period I have managed a variety of projects and accounts, delivered marketing strategies, written copy and produced social media and editorial content for a range of platforms, and led a number of exciting product and brand campaigns.
In my current role I lead on the development of the social media strategy, digital projects and campaigns for our client Danone. I also manage three community managers and support them in social media content ideation and the management of social content calendars. I work closely with the designers to coordinate the delivery of all creative assets and assist in social copywriting. Additionally, I work on wider campaigns for the client, including social strategy development and creating guidelines and playbooks, as well as advising on best practices, undertaking social listening and compiling social reports. Prior to this, I was employed as Digital Associate Director at Grayling for our client Huawei, a role in which I was responsible for client servicing, creating and implementing the comms and content strategy, developing a PR and social media content calendar, providing copy and content for social media, managing social accounts and overseeing all design projects.
I have also previously worked as Digital Content Director for a public relations agency for CEOs and senior executives. In this role, I was responsible for managing client relationships and ensuring delivery across multiple projects. I developed marketing and PR strategies and implemented operational practices and internal communication procedures, as well as line managing a team of account managers, social media executives, graphic designers, videographers, and copywriters. I also created and pitched digital and social media strategies and campaigns and oversaw the creation of all content including social media assets, press releases, videos, articles, blogs, podcasts, and websites. In addition, I attended meetings with prospective clients to act as a brand ambassador and promote our services. As a senior member of the team, I also led training, mentoring and knowledge-sharing sessions for the junior team members to help them develop their skills.
As a former finance reporter and editor, I have experience in writing opinion pieces and articles and working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. In all my previous roles, I have been responsible for developing and executing marketing and communications strategies and campaigns, whilst also creating and editing content for our clients' social media accounts and digital platforms. Due to my employment at several marketing agencies, I have also developed an understanding for various digital marketing practices such as PPC, SEO and AdWords, and have managed website design and development projects. I have used this experience to enhance my own creative skill set and familiarise myself with a variety of design tools and software.
I would embrace the opportunity to work in this role due to my passion for developing compelling brand storytelling and engaging copy, as well as implementing effective content strategy and leading innovative digital campaigns. I also possess a strong interest in following digital trends and implementing creative solutions and best practices in brand strategy.
