ABOUT

Every patient arriving at Dr. Claire Navin's reconstructive surgery practice carries a story, not just a diagnosis, but a deeply personal journey toward wholeness. The brief was to create a digital brand that could hold that weight with beauty and trust. Starting with the patient's mental model, not the surgeon's credentials, became the design's north star.

The concept drew on the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, making the cracks part of the beauty rather than something to hide. Blended with the intricate elegance of Delft blue-and-white ceramic traditions, the visual language became a metaphor for reconstructive care itself: precision, artistry, and the belief that healing can be made beautiful. Golden seams flowing through delicate floral patterns symbolise both surgical skill and the compassion that defines every patient relationship.

Execution
The brand system was built around a deep navy and warm gold palette, with the lotus mark as its emotional anchor, a symbol of renewal quietly present across every touchpoint. A suite of deliverables was developed: a fully responsive website designed for all devices, LinkedIn social content templates in two distinct visual registers (dark and light), and CRM email design. The social posts were designed to carry the doctor's voice with authority and warmth simultaneously, pairing bold typographic quotes with the Kintsugi-inspired graphic language. Across all formats, the Delft-pattern motifs were treated as structural design elements rather than decoration, giving the brand a cultural depth unusual in medical aesthetics.

Results
The client approved - won the pitch. A cohesive system gave the practice a consistent brand voice across digital channels for the first time.
