I wanted to capture images of hens that had been saved from becoming part of the food chain and to show what a poor condition they were in when rescued. A friend put me in touch with someone who had taken several of the hens from a rescue organisation. Many of them were in very poor health and as you can see some have feathers missing from their tails, wings etc.
