Being a fan of Bill Watterson's "Calvin and Hobbes" comics, I really liked the absurdity of Calvin's subscription to the fictitious "Chewing Magazine" for avid gum chewers. The topics were silly, and yet still something you would see on the cover of almost any niche market magazine - things like jaw exercises and flavour retention. It wasn't until this University project came along that I thought this would be a great time to use this as a layout example for a final project. I really like the bright colours, as you'd expect with a novelty chewing gum brand, and how it really feels like it could be a monthly publication.
