ABOUT

Jarrow Hall is one of the North East's most extraordinary places. A museum dedicated to the life and times of Bede, a reconstructed Anglo-Saxon farm, and the 18th-century Jarrow Hall house, all on one site, spanning 1,300 years of history.

Ahead of their February 2026 reopening, Mondays were brought in to create a brand identity that could speak to every visitor, from toddler groups to academic researchers, whilst honouring everything that makes Jarrow Hall unique.

We developed a flexible visual system built around a framing device inspired by illuminated manuscripts and the architecture of the site. The Codex typeface references medieval manuscripts and the colour palette is drawn from heritage, landscape, and the changing seasons. Each programme strand has its own colour, but the unifying frame ensures everything remains recognisably Jarrow Hall.

The result spans outdoor flags, event posters, brand guidelines, and a staff-ready Canva template library and celebrates a contemporary identity that knows exactly where it comes from.
