On April 25th, 2015 Nepal was hit by the Gorkha earthquake, which killed 9000 people and displaced 450,000. It was Nepal’s most devastating earthquake since 1934. The magnitude of destruction was caused by Nepal’s geographic placement, urbanization and architecture.

Amit, a young Nepalese sculptor, tells us the story of Nepal’s devastation and his part in restoring the country’s beautiful landscape through alternative and sustainable architecture. Amit’s blame does not fall on the extremes of nature itself, but on the way cities and towns have been built on such a beautiful, although sometimes hostile, land. He believes there are ways of living that lie parallel and in sync with the natural wonders that make Nepal.
