Album cover artwork (2014)

One of the final projects for my Graphic Design HND. The brief itself was to create artwork for a fictitious album, I had chosen a band called Enter Shikari; an rock/alternative band from England, with anti-establishment views and themes who were popular in the alternative sub-genre at the time. This would allow me to produce work with a slightly darker theme and indulge me in my love of creating monsters.
The idea for this piece was the British Navy of the 1800’s battling a giant sea monster in vain and being consumed by it. The monster was to represent the band and their views; the navy to represent the establishment. I took inspiration from old naval paintings, the work of Dan Mumford and Assassins Creed: Black Flag.
