ABOUT
A visual study of the English Lake District, exploring place, hospitality and the quieter moments in between.
Beginning and ending in Windermere, the documentation follows a route through Ambleside, Rydal, Grasmere, Keswick and Ullswater, with time spent at Storrs Hall overlooking the lake. Weather, open water and the changing landscape form one part of the story; cafés opening for the day, boats returning to shore, afternoon tea, passing conversations and shifting light form another.
Execution:
Photography and motion were developed together throughout the journey, responding to what was happening rather than working from a fixed shot list.
The approach moved between wider landscapes and smaller observations, allowing the character of the region to emerge through place, people, hospitality and detail.
Result:
The resulting body of work creates a broader portrait of the Lake District, bringing landscape and hospitality together through a consistent observational approach across stills and motion.
