ABOUT

Onboard collateral and printed materials created for Royal Scotsman, A Belmond Train.

Drawing from the train’s marquetry, panelled interiors and layered material palette, the work develops a quieter visual language shaped by craftsmanship, geometry and repetition. References to tartan, woven textiles and traditional detailing are reinterpreted through structure, materials and finish.

Execution:
The collection spans cabin collateral through to the wider onboard food and beverage experience, including directories, menus, maps and printed matter.

Embossing, foil blocking, tactile paper stocks and structured layouts were used to create pieces that feel naturally connected to the carriage interiors, while maintaining a consistent visual language across different parts of the journey.

Result:
The resulting system brings greater coherence to the onboard experience, creating a flexible framework for future materials while ensuring each touchpoint feels distinctly part of Royal Scotsman.
