Miritec has developed a multi-lingual, interactive and cross functional website for «Baku Metropolitan».

Challenge

Baku becomes innovative and attractive travel destination that is due to being a host of international competitions. Reasonably, “Baku Metropolitan” faced a need to represent its services throughout a modern and user-friendly website, designed for both, citizens and overseas visitors.
In anticipation of Baku 2015 European Games, a future website was also intended to provide tourists with useful information about sports facilities and ways to get to them.

Task and Solutions

To fully represent metropolitan services and its significance, Miritec IT-specialists were given a task to develop a website as a single tool to attract city residents and foreigners to its services and city venues, in particular, during the international tournament. “Baku Metropolitan” website had to carry an interactive map to help users get familiar with their opportunities if travelling around the city.
In practice, the interactive map had to provide users with tools to set a travel route, check out its presumable duration, transfer stations and distances between the main points.
In addition, the website had to display maps of key sightseeing spots and sports venues in Baku, and a shuttle schedule to speed up a travel to the facility.

Solutions

In course of the website development, Miritec specialists have implemented:
• functionality to create galleries for different models with an ability to use a widget in the admin panel;
• gallery transfer to the server;
• dynamic forms with validation of entered data on both, client’s and server’s sides;
• dynamic AJAX-load of the information;
• functionality of the admin panel;
• data caching;
• processing of downloadable images;
• multilingual support;
• generation of email notifications.
As a matter of user ease-of-use, the website is mobile-friendly, as well as equipped with location-based service.

The Customer has cut time expenditures, as Miritec team has accomplished this project within six-month period. The process required an involvement of IT-experts in various fields, including UI/UX designers.
