ABOUT
The story behind one of the greatest conservation victories in the Mediterranean, which ensured the protection of one of the most important "maternity wards" of the loggerhead turtle in the region.
The film takes us to a 550 meters long beach that has become a symbol for the protection of sea turtles, and the wildlife of the Mediterranean.
Sekania in the island of Zakynthos in Greece is the nesting site with the highest density of loggerhead turtle nests in the world, as in the last 30 years or so, this small strip of coast has hosted more than 1,500,000 eggs. The area is 'the heart' of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos.
The documentary "Sekania: A beach for the sea turtle Caretta caretta" is directed by Vicky Markolefa and Bastian Fischer - Mind The Bump Productions and produced by WWF.
