ABOUT
ALI is a photo-based camera projection animation, created by transforming a still image into a dimensional motion scene.
This project combines Photoshop image prep, Cinema 4D projection mapping, and After Effects compositing to bring cinematic movement and depth to a single frame.
The original square-format image was extended into a landscape aspect ratio in Photoshop, where background elements were painted and separated into layers. Using camera projection in Cinema 4D, a simple 3D scene was built and animated with a subtle, slow-moving virtual camera to simulate parallax and depth.
To finalize the piece, After Effects was used to add atmosphere, color grading, and layered effects like light glows, depth haze, and a camera flash effect — enhancing the storytelling with mood and cinematic tone.
This work was created under the creative direction of Cameron Pierron, founder of Motion Science, during an advanced workshop focusing on projection workflows.
