ABOUT

Context:
The Love Foundation ran weekly, themed activity sessions throughout the summer holidays, providing activities for parents and children, a varied programme of entertainment and lunch. They also gave out a food allocation for families to take home with them for the week, as well as some extra give-aways including books, resources and a guide to local events.

Audience
Families that have been referred to the event. These families are likely to have a low income and are facing crisis in some way. They may be embarrassed about coming to a ‘foodbank’ related event. English won’t be everyone’s first language so both materials need to be easy to understand/translations could be considered.

Key messages
- Free event
- Different themed weeks
- There will be fun and educational activities/entertainment and a workshop or craft for the parents
- Enriching opportunities for the children and teenagers
- They will be given food to take home each week and lunch on the day
- It’s an opportunity to build relationships with other local families

Brief:
Design for tickets and flyer that can be given to the families who are invited to the scheme, to explain what it is and the different themed weeks.

My response:
Final designs using the colours of the Love Foundation brand.
Bright, happy, strong colours, to express the 'fun' and positiveness of the event.
Imagery in the form of simplified, clear icons and symbols to represent each theme in a way that is understandable to an audience that does not necessarily read english.
