ABOUT
The British cycle-wear brand Rapha Racing approached me to conceive and pitch a new arts and culture magazine to appeal to members of the Rapha Cycle Club: the brief was to speak to the varied and wide cultural interests of the members in order to reflect their sophisticated aspirations of Rapha's customers (it was not a cycling magazine!). I wrote a brief for the magazine, drew up a roster of writers and subject areas, and developed, with art director Ben Brannan, a distinctive look for the publication. I also drew up a staff roster and production budget. We successfully pitched the magazine to Rapha CEO Simon Mottram, and Mondial was launched later that year, nominated for a British Society of Magazine Editors award, and was published for three years.
