“Splash” is a meditation on the time we spend sitting in an office, the splashes of colour being the different emotions we go through during our working week, left as an essence or a spirit on an unoccupied seat. The gold is a reference to a throne (a locus of control), while the dripping, splattered scheme is a homage to Francis Bacon’s Study after Velázquez's Portrait of Pope Innocent X.

The Chair got auctioned at a Charity Evening sponsored by Steelcase and raised a good amount of money for the Action for A-T Foundation; a charity that raises money for the research of Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T) – a debilitating disease that cuts short many young lives in the UK and worldwide.
