In this brief I was given the task of creating a visual concept that linked to the colour magenta out of the CMYK print format. I had to create a monogram compiling different experiments, I decided to explore the colour red under magenta.

I experimented with different shapes and colours to bring to life the emotional journey a human goes through from birth to death by using colour as a means to show emotion. From light to dark red, light symbolising hope and dark showing stress and pain. All hand painted and scanned and then edited for best visual result.

I wanted to highlight the different experiences someone might go through in their life journey, from joy to sadness and a mixture of emotions. I used photoshop and indesign to construct the monogram and played around with positioning and layout. Finishing off the project as part of the requirements, presentation was key so I chose semi-glossy paper that enhanced the image quality and brought out the texture of the painting strokes. This resulted in completing the project to a high standard and receiving a high grade.
