ABOUT
My final thesis was based around the subject matter of Co-design. Co-design is the collaboration of the general public to create a design outcome based on their own views and values. Although this is what i view co-design to be, it can be seen or described differently by people who use co-design. This is because there are different forms of co-design which in their own way go through the same process of working with people in the beginning and eventually come to a design outcome. There are many organisations which are continuously researching and testing co-design, helping it to further evolve and become a more mainstream form of design in our culture. One such organisation is the Imagination Lab based in Lancaster University organised by Project team leader, Professor Leon Cruickshank. All across Europe there are Hubs and Organisations which are involved in the project of co-design, holding workshops and presentations to further peoples knowledge of co-design.
I explored this fascinating subject in detail and created firstly a thesis and also two journal papers which delve further into the subject of co-design (and can be downloaded below). Feel free to read them and learn more about the 'Methods of Co-design'.
