Junior Designer/Creative Artworker - Eden Marsh

Dear Sir/Madam,

Further to your advertisement for the Junior Designer/Creative Artworker position, I would like to apply for this vacancy. I am very interested in this position and strongly believe I have to right combination of knowledge and relevant industry experience to not only make me an ideal candidate, but also an asset to your company.

For the past 2 years I have worked as part of a busy design studio in a very reputable publishing and media company, Kelsey Media, based in Kent working across a variety of print & digital platforms. I have gained great knowledge and experience in layout design, Artworking, preflight checking and have worked as a co-designer for a very long running weekly publication, Cage & Aviary Birds Magazine. During this time I have been responsible for the visual layout & style of the magazine and have seen each issue through from first flat plan stage all the way through to producing the final print and digital product.

During my time here I have also been solely responsible for the digital distribution of all of our titles and have gained great knowledge and experience in being able to produce digital versions of our printed publications. I feel as though working as a designer for a weekly title and managing our online distribution has given me a unique skill set in knowing how to produce both printed and digital material from start to finish.

I am always maintaining high levels of standards in my work and would consider myself a perfectionist. I am always looking to further my knowledge and experience and have a real hunger to learn and grow within this industry. I'm very well organized and get on very well with others and enjoy working as part of a team and thrive on being around other individuals and soaking up as much knowledge as I can.

I feel as though I have reached my limit where I am currently in terms of further development of my career as well as skills and experience and am very eager to progress further in my career and as a creative individual and I strongly hope you will allow me to do so within your exciting company. I hope I have the opportunity to further discuss the position with you in person.
