Mellor&Smith London

ABOUT

// The Problem //
You’re an established 20-year-old show who’s got the market sewn up. But you’ve got big competition. You need to sell more tickets than ever before. But how do you get people through the door?

// The Execution //
Where can you find plenty of Londoners? Underground of course. Half a million travel on the Bakerloo in the morning, so we hit it at rush hour. Recreating a dinner party from the Faulty Towers hotel... but on the tube

Avoiding the police, pissing off the competition and bribing TFL staff is all part of the job. And believe it or not the commuters loved it.

// Risks Taken //
Breaking the rules with a crew of 15, bribing TFL staff, and not being punched by commuters. We caused a stir, got in front of 100K people, sold a shit ton of tickets, and didn’t get arrested.

// The Results //
Immediate result: 10k tickets sold in a week, more than in the previous two months.
Long term result: 175% increase in ticket sales in the month after. Historically their most difficult month.
