ABOUT

Brief - To bring Piccadilly's historical backstory to life via carefully designed, authentic, vintage ads which were displayed in the area during the '40s, '60s and '80s.

Goal - To entice viewers to unravel their own backstories with Ancestry UK.

Solution - Blind Pig forensically examined archive photos, Pathe news footage and excerpts from 'An American Werewolf in London' to meticulously map authentic, iconic advertising content from the eras in question for brands such as Coca Cola, Philips and Bovrill. We redrew all images and typography to match the originals, before building 3D models of each display. Animation was authentically mirrored from footage dating back almost 100 years and even a historical building (now hidden) was remodelled.

Team - Blind Pig, Anomaly, Ancestry, Ocean Outdoor
