About me

I have recently graduated in Information Systems with Business Management and obtained a 2:1 honours reward.

I have recently worked as an IT Strategy & Innovation Analyst at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) part of Corporate IT Future Design. My role at DWP is varied into different aspects which involved technology and innovative ways of improving policies and services at the Department. My duties include working as a webmaster for the Department's personal website Idea Street used across the Department by staff members who post their suggestions which me and my team investigate into and produce a business case upon its success. In order for Idea Street to run smoothly, I am responsible for the regulation of its management, access rights of different users and the appearance, setting up of the website investigation, announcements and content placement. I have also researched into technologies that could help the government and the Department.

I have also developed my skills and learned key competencies of Finance through the course “Professional Skills for Government - Financial Management”. This online course included modules such as financial planning and control, resource based management and strategic and business planning.

My previous position was at Toluna Plc as a Project Manager Assistant, this was a temporary position that has given me the opportunity to experience working in a busy environment with multi-cultural individuals, I have developed high analytical skills through organising and analysing massive data files in Microsoft Excel and working under pressure to meet tight deadlines of several projects. I believe this position I am applying for will bring challenge and excitement in my career that will give me an opportunity to experience the job role and develop my skills and knowledge that I have gained academically from my degree.

I am also competent with Microsoft Office package. I have an intermediate knowledge of HTML developed throughout my degree; I have designed databases using Microsoft Access, websites using Visual Studios 2005 & 2008. I have also developed business plans and strategies as part of a module whereby real business problems addressed, for example expenditure and budget management of products.

I believe that my key qualities are my strong communicative ability, combined with adaptability, desire to learn new skills and transferable skills. I see myself as a highly conscientious, enthusiastic and strongly driven individual.
