ABOUT

For the past three years, we have been the official videographers for Manchester Pride. Working closely with them each year, we created new ideas to express how attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community have shifted over the last 20/30 years and how the community has had to fight for their right to love.

Aims and objectives:

In 2017, the aim was to create a highly engaging, visual aftermovie for the use on Pride’s social media channels, promoting the event and highlights of the festival.

In 2018, the main aim was to develop the aftermovie into a story, touching on what the community has overcome, showing strength, unity, and the continuous growth of gay pride in society. From the outdated views on gay rights and the negative news coverage in the 80s to attitudes today, we wanted to highlight how things have progressed for the better.

For 2019, and with the addition of two extra locations for the new festival format, the aim was to show the enormous growth of the event. Utilising multiple videographers, we worked closely with the team at Pride and Mustard Media to create a range of short, engaging content that could be used on social media, as well as producing a traditional aftermovie documenting how the festival itself has expanded.

Deliverables:

The official after-movie each year, each video being 2-3 minutes long.
Daily wrap ups to recap each day’s events with a fast turn around while maintaining high quality.
Short promotional videos used to promote the festival the following year.
Featured on Channel 4 and BBC.
