The Invisible Disease is an art project about mental illness, more specifically anxiety. Anxiety is a subject I personally can relate to as I suffer from the illness myself. Many people today suffer from anxiety, very often in silence and struggle to get support and help from a society that usually doesn’t understand or know how to deal with it and a NHS that treats mental illness with less resources and importance as physical illnesses.
I will look at the physical and emotional aspects of anxiety and sub categories such as panic disorder, panic attacks, concessive compulsive disorder, social phobia, post traumatic stress disorder and agoraphobia. The images created are visions from personal anxiety experiences created subconsciously.
