ABOUT
Marijuana is legal in much of the U.S., creating a multi-billion-dollar industry. Yet thousands remain incarcerated for non-violent marijuana offenses. In many cases, release requires only a signature from an elected official.
To highlight this disparity, we created The Pen to Right History—a non-partisan symbol built from real stories of incarceration, clemency pleas, and public calls for reform. Each pen was designed to write letters to the lawmakers with the power to grant pardons—using the same tool that can sign a conviction to call for its reversal.
