About me

I have completed and gained a 2:1 (Hons) degree in BSc Computer Animation at London Metropolitan University and a ACA certification in Flash CS4 . I have spent four years studying computer animation following a change in career. .

During my studies and my career I have worked on many animation projects including creating short films, advertisements, and prototypes for hand held computer games. The programmes that I have used to create the projects involve the creation of storyboards, character bibles, concept art, marketing, research and sound effect creation. I have had experience in using certain Animation/Graphic programmes such as; Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, ToonBoon Director, Maya, 3DsMax and Office software.

Through my studies and working experience I have gained an understanding of CSS, HTML, Action script, lingo and PHP programming languages, I have used these languages to create websites, interactive games and iPad/ new media device prototypes.

Since leaving University I have been designing prototype iPad applications. I created an iPad children's book reading interface which also feature animation and sound effects to bring the stories to life. I have also designed vehicles for a 3D computer game, music videos for bands and visuals for night club installations. I am currently working on the pre-production plans for a new animated television series. Studying a degree in animation requires a lot of research into design, appeal and trends of animated and interactively designed products. During the design and pre-production planning stages I would test products on the target audience and get feedback on their thoughts.

I am a fast learner, hard working and well organised. I am a friendly and outgoing person who works well in a team. I have led and project managed many of the tasks during my time at University including organising the Graduation show for final year students. This involved creating a website to showcase our work, creating an open studio, exhibiting our work at a film festival and creating a unique animated film using the drawings by those who attended an arts festival in summer 2009.

Prior to embarking on this career change, I worked in the building construction industry and the hospitality industry. I was a specialist floor layer for a number of years working on several high profile premises such as the Royal palaces, Central Government buildings and the American Government residential buildings. The clients I have worked for included some high profile celebrities such as Madonna. I worked on large projects whereby I managed a team of people. I started my working life as a Lithographic printer, I also spent 3 years in the hospitality industry.
