About me
For the past two years I have worked as part of small production team for a B2B magazine publishers; first as the production manager of Estates Review magazine, and then managing Business Destinations - a business travel magazine, distributed at air lounges and flight gates - from its launch issue in September 2005.
In this time I have been involved and contributed to every aspect of the magazine¹s production, from the first point of contact with advertising clients through to final checking and approval of pages for print. This has given me an understanding of how each of the processes in the production cycle impacts upon the other stages.
I have used my time at my current job as an opportunity to become proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat and to sharpen my critical skills when dealing with editorial and page design. The role I have played in maintaining Business Destinations¹ design and editorial standards, working closely with the designer and reprographics house, has instilled a sound understanding of what makes a page work and the importance of consistency and accuracy.
I thrive working in a team environment. I am gregarious, sociable and confident in my ability to communicate effectively with others and convey ideas and problems. I have experience of handling responsibility and utilising a variety of disciplines to get things done effectively and meet deadlines. I am calm under pressure and relish a challenge.
