About me
I am an Italian 25 years old fresh graduate in Literary and Audiovisual Translation, with a great passion for cinema and animation. I have practised animation all by myself for almost ten years with Adobe (then Macromedia) Flash. I have studied different books about animation ( mainly Richard Williams “The Animator's Survival Kit”), film directing (Nicholas T. Proferes “Film directing fundamentals: see your film before you shoot”), screenwriting and creative writing (Highly interested in storytelling techniques based on myth archetypes I have studied with passion Christopher Vogler “The Writer's Journey: Mythic Structure For Writers). I have also a good command of video editing (mainly Adobe Premiere), audio editing (Propellerhead Reason, Adobe Audition) and graphics softwares. I'm influenced by artists like Terry Gilliam, Emanuele Luzzati, Jan Svankmajer. I would love to work with stop motion animation, but still I haven't had the chance apart from some very small experiments.
I obviously feel that I still have to learn a lot of things since most of my knowledge is self taught, that's why I'd love to do an internship in this field.
I came here in the United Kingdom because building an art-related career in Italy is nearly impossible, starting from university courses that are nearly non-existent.
