Math results are declining globally and in Sweden, while educational inequality is increasing.
As one of Sweden’s leading non-profit organizations providing free math support, Mattecentrum wanted to address this challenge early. The ages 9–12 are a critical turning point, the stage where many children go from thinking math is fun to seeing it as difficult or intimidating. Once confidence and foundational skills are lost, it can be difficult to recover later.
