ABOUT
During 2020 I spent a bit of time developing my illustration skills, focussing on landscapes and environments. Colour and atmosphere are two elements I like to pay close attention to in my work and I'm continually studying these areas to improve the quality of my work.
After a trip through the north of Scotland, gathering loads of landscape and nature reference, I returned home inspired and eager to get to work on some environment designs. I had absorbed a ton of visual information on my travels, and this illustration flowed very naturally from start to finish.
I'm happy with the result, I balanced the jaggy shapes and hard edges with soft colours to present a minimally-styled, calm scene. It's one of my favourite pieces from last year, with some great memories attached.
