ABOUT
Home & Kitchen is a family led home design atelier owned by two generations of Italian furniture makers.
As the owners recognised the need for their business to have an online presence I was approached to create a logo and brand identity.
Constructed from simple geometric forms, the logo consists of the letters H and K crowned with a triangle, altogether creating an outline of the most basic shape of a house.
Apart from the obvious association to the home and family I wanted also to underline the Italian heritage by including a reference to the classical Roman architecture, in particular the magnificent facade of the Pantheon. It is achieved by constructing the letters from a series of vertical lines reminiscent of an ancient colonnade topped with a pediment.
The logo was designed using Adobe Illustrator and afterwards turned into a motion graphic in After Effects.
