ABOUT

These are the main characters for a hypothetical movie about a freak show called “Alium Show” (alium = different) that takes place in Russia during the 20’s, at the time of the uprising against the Bolsheviks. The characters were designed on Photoshop.

From left to right first row:
Miss Krestnaya, the headmistress of the circus, responsible for all the family. She welcomes every single one of the “freaks” as her own children. Many of them can call her mother and find with her a family that does not reject them for their oddities. She has an eye that makes her see the true self in people, which makes it very hard or impossible for her to be tricked.

The serpent woman, known as Luba in the family, has the particularity of looking more like a serpent than a woman. She has a snake head, hands with the shape of a snake’s end and the whole body covered in scales. She also as an extremely venomous bite, which forces her and miss Krestnaya to always carry an antidote in case of an accident.

Misha, the scorpion boy, is similar to the serpent woman but he shows more human characteristics than her. He only has the pincers of a scorpion instead of hands and also a tail growing from his spine. Poisonous as a scorpion, he must carry an antidote everywhere too, as does miss Krestnaya.

From left to right second row:
Mila is very shy, which is why she ends up enjoying her particularity. She lives and is only seen in reflections. She can interact with people and objects in the reflection where she is, which is very useful when she wants to pull some pranks on her siblings.

Dinara spits fire and has the wings of a dragon... It was not easy for her to adapt to the fact that she had wings for arms, so miss Krestnaya taught her to dance ballet so she could have delicate movements and learned to live with her differences.

Nikolai, the porcelain boy. This means he will crack or break very easily which becomes a problem when associated with a conflictual temperament. He considers himself the protector of the others and this is the reason why he has an hole for an eye.
