This was a competition brief for which I had to create a new book cover design for an existing Vintage Books novel. The novel I chose was 'Oranges are not the only fruit". This book was based on a young girls struggle with her sexuality in an out dated world. I decided to stay away from the obvious use of oranges and instead created a more sophisticated design. I used a black and white image of a rose bush, to represent her view of her world. I added the stark contrast of a single rose to try to represents her inner conflicts.
