ABOUT
In 2017 Portugal suffered expansive fires across its land, many parts of the country were affected. People died and communities were shattered. The landscape became black - trees and houses scorched.
During a working trip to Portugal in November 2017 I travelled to two areas affected by the fires, I saw a landscape which had been transformed into a place of eerie beauty.
The first image was shortlisted in the inaugural Earth Photo 2018 awards. Earth Photo is a photographic competition and exhibition developed jointly by the Royal Geographic Society and Forestry Commission England
