The rising stars feature runs every year in The Bookseller magazine. We invite as many of the people on the list to come into the office for a photoshoot. The advantage being that we end up with images that are visually consistent and high quality, rather than relying on poor quality images from mobile phones. It pays off when it comes to laying out the pages . . .

Mark was brilliant doing the this year's photoshoot for our project which is an annual list of about 40 up-and-coming professionals in the book trade (he had done the shoot for a number of years for us). I was happy with everything from his handling of the logistics, his rapport with the subjects, his flexiblity when timings had to be chopped and changed, and the speed in which he processed the images, as it was a relatively tight deadline. But I was happiest most of all with the images themselves, which really brought out the personalities of each of the subjects. Highly recommended!! (he has done it for the last
