Paris Supernature: A Desirable Future in 2034

Paris, 2034.

The climate urgency has finally made its voice heard. A united and peaceful Europe has passed a global land-planning policy, and every city has adapted.

Paris is now equipped with a network of open-air trams crisscrossing the city. Its marvelous historical buildings are beautifully renovated and cared for. We capitalize on what already exists, focusing on enhancing what is beautiful. Everywhere, lawns and trees have been planted, and ponds have been dug. These expansive spaces, now entirely pedestrianized, belong to passersby and children's games.

Drones handle deliveries and assist the municipality with various urban tasks. Solar panels have been replaced by Rawlemons, which are both more efficient and aesthetically pleasing. On every balcony, vegetable gardens flourish, while buildings are adorned with vertical gardens and living walls that bring welcome coolness. Bees and butterflies thrive in an air that is finally pure.

Life flows gently, filled with sharing, preserving the very best it has to offer—supported by discreet technology, but above all, by a lush, refreshing, and vibrant nature.

I created these animated paintings and their static counterparts entirely using ink on paper, combining stippling and ligne claire techniques before digitizing them for final touches. This method allows me to capture architectural details, as well as the delicacy of flora and fauna, with the utmost precision.

The color palettes and compositions work together to offer a vision of true harmony, while the sound design completes what remains unsaid in the imagery. To me, it felt essential to provide both an animated version and its static counterpart, inviting the viewer to take their time and fully explore every detail.
