About me
I graduated in Graphic Design by the School of Arts and Design(ESAD) in Caldas da Rainha, an institution famous by its promotion of individuality, free thinking and a strong designdriven take on all social and personal aspects. I improved my level of education through a Masters Course in Communication Design at Architecture Faculty of the Technical University of Lisbon (FAUTL) where I focused on editorial and typography. Having such guide-lines to my future work as a designer, it all culminated in a thesis that shared a close tie with Portugal's current economic situation: a "Campaign to prevent Social Indebtness". This is a discussion between social and commercial design while developing a creative way to communicate new saving attitudes to the consumer credit society.
During the summer of 2011, while finishing my thesis, I pursued a three month intership at the "Terra Design" agency, as a junior graphic designer. Working with the team, I developed real account and client work experience, while handling product-launching campaigns.
Currently I'm looking for a job in my area, it is in my nature to maintain a working rhythm. Hence that, I was working for a Portuguese clothing store called "Lanidor" last six months where I was able to grow my customer service and teamwork abilities.
With a versatility, eagerness and creativity that are longing for new challenges and opportunities to grow as a designer and as a person. With full availability and looking
forward to set foot in London.
Kind regards,
Maria João Abreu
