The Ring Boxing Club, Blackfriars, London. Established in 1910 and one of the oldest Queensbury Rules Boxing Clubs in the country. Steeped in history, the club owner and CEO Mark Burford wanted to celebrate its past yet create something modern which went beyond being just a souvenir. What better than something you can wear. First step was to employ a Boxing Historian – yes that exists as a job – who locatated an amazing archive of fight poster from The Ring during the early 20th Century. Eagerly we pawed the details looking for narrative which we could extrapolate to create a range cool retro tees. This was the result. I also need to give credit to my former colleague and friend Ellie Atkins for her help and creative contribution on this project.
