The world wide web is 30 years old

The world wide web is 30 years old, that would place it’s launch 1990.
Can anyone remember the state of play of the web at that time, very clunky usage if I remember correctly, it was was dial up, so you heard that sound before the actual connection took place. But when you look at that date it’s still relatively young.

Netflix only started actually streaming in 2007 you can add a few more years to that to iron out the glitches; it’s only by 2010 with the introduction of retina displays that you could say we had arrived at least regarding moving image, and sure there were wizards code writers before then who could knock you up some animation or include video on a webpage, but that was a pricey game in comparison to the present, the curve between software and hardware is both stable and equal now, the imbalances between the two no longer exists the way it once did, servers are fast and plentiful.

Welcome to the world wide web 30 years on.
