ABOUT

Unravel Storytelling is an event organisation that puts together open-mic storytelling sessions on a monthly basis in Shanghai. The theme varies from month to month, and I was invited to work on the poster for its July edition: Natural.

Unravel Storytelling wanted a concept that blended the idea of ‘natural’ in the literal, environmental sense; as well as an evocation of the ‘natural self within’. Using a largely organic palette as its base, I invited friends and family to pose for the ‘portrait shots’, indicating a range of expressions and emotions that captured their natural characteristics.

After two rounds of revisions that took place within one week, we were able to agree on the poster showcased here on the right. The poster was subsequently distributed on Unravel Storytelling’s website and social media accounts.
